Dexter Beef

Dexter beef dinner

Our purebred Dexter cattle spend their entire lives on pasture, never a feedlot. They are raised on grass, hay and grain without added antibiotics or hormones.

Our beef is processed to your specifications and is available as a whole, half or quarter. The price is $6 per pound based on hanging weight, which is the weight of the animal after unusable parts have been removed, and it includes the cost of processing. The average hanging weight for a steer is approximately 400 lbs. and will yield approximately 250 lbs. of beef cut and packaged your way, including soup bones and variety meats. Call, email or send a message.

Dexter cattle make flavorful, tender beef that is lean but with generous marbling that is so fine among the meat fibers you can not easily see it, but you can definitely taste it.

Celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsay and Will Lockwood have used Dexter beef on their menus. Here’s what others say…

Butcher Magazine – “Dexter beef is excellent quality, with good marbling. The marbling makes the flesh tender and flavoursome.”

Dexter cattle: Tiny breed, big-flavour beef – “Without a doubt the meat is definitely richer, you can really tell the difference.”

The Butchery LTD – “Dexter – Small, Sweet and Beefy”

Real Food Hub – “Chef’s champion Dexter beef as having outstanding quality and flavour, with good marbling.”
